First new, large painting in the new studio

Settling into the new studio and pleased to have finished the first large painting in a series of chair paintings I'm working on. Further exploring the theme of 'place' I liked the idea of chairs serving as a symbol of the place and the people that might occupy them. Each chair painting seems a little like painting a portrait with each alluding to it's own character, agency and purpose.
